Go Like Never Before at SHAPE Night Run 2015

Had the opportunity to take part running in the 11.2KM category at SHAPE Night Run 2015 last April, 11. This was my first time running at SHAPE Night Run. SHAPE Malaysia as title race event last appeared in year 2012 at Men's Health & Shape Night Run 2012.

It was raining heavily when I reached the race venue in Putrajaya. Met running friends, Elise, Neves, Liana, Nieza, Tinie and others while taking cover from the heavy downpour. The event was really fortunate as heavy rain and lightning strikes started to calm within the 30 minutes waiting time. The 11.2KM category was flagged at 8.45pm instead of 8.30pm.
To add, participants who opted not to run could proceed to collect their finisher medal and goodie bag.

Caught up with Kakai, Dayang and Nieza at KM1. These injured runners were still recovering from their hard training earlier. Continued my run with Nieza as my running partner towards the finishing line. Water stations were sufficient with mineral water and 100 Plus. Saw some medical volunteers and also interesting friendly people along the way.

Successfully crossed the finishing line at 1 hour 15 minutes (Nett Time). Finisher medal, banana and bottle water were given at the finishing line. Went straight to the goodie bag redemption tent a few metres away for collection. Received a large string bag with tons of sponsored goodies inside.

Event Area
Did a short stroll along the event area. Most event sponsors were seen with their exhibition tent in the area. There were Kellogg's giving out free cereals with some salad on it, AirAsia with an instant photo booth (saw this in someone's instagram account), 100 Plus and others. Had to line up to redeem free JuiceWorks juice using the coupon inside the goodie bag. There were photo walls with decent lighting for photo session too. The event area was less crowded than the usual due to bad weather and event delay earlier.

Decent finisher medal and lanyard design. Lanyard quality could be better. Excellent goodie bag with sponsored items and discount vouchers. A huge and rare goodie bag design. Comfortable to bring around. Could see clear signages around the event area.
Worthy registration fee at RM60 for 11.2KM for race kit, goodies and run experience.

Summary: Good job to SHAPE Malaysia, organisor, partners and sponsors! A great race event even after a 90% chance of cancellation due to bad weather. I was glad the race event continued as planned. Looking forward for an improved event next year.
