Running: Revive Retro Run Malaysia 2015 (Kuala Lumpur)

On 17 May 2015, a themed fun run event was held at Publika, Kuala Lumpur called Revive Retro Run Malaysia 2015. What interest me to take part in this event were the theme which was retro 70's, the finisher medal design and the race route.

The finisher medal was sleek, mold onto an old-school cassette design. Furthermore, I never tried running within the Publika area.

At RM50 (early bird), the race pack comes with a bright orange neon New Balance running tee, BIB and some discount vouchers. Race pack collection was held at the official event venue, Publika a week prior to race day.

Race Day

I reached the event venue an hour before flag off time. Parking was ample and convenient as it was located inside the shopping mall itself. Met running friends Elise and She Musa at the starting line. Bumped onto Izwan and friends after the race. Some of the KL Towerthon participants such as Neves and Liana also took part in this event right after their tower climb race earlier that morning.

Decided to take this run slow with the lady pacers eventhough Elise started at her usual fast pace. A moderate hilly route along the 5KM run. Water stations were available with Revive Isotonic drinks and water. Race route direction was clear with friendly volunteers and traffic marshals.

Collected the finisher medal and snack pack at the finishing line. A little congestion due to the numbers of participants and its narrow space at the finishing area. A paper bag consisted of some 70's snacks and goodies were given such as Ding Dang, Hero chocolate cake and others.

Event Area
Didn't manage to stroll much due it small event area. Event partners and sponsors tents were seen in the area. There was stage games with participants on the main stage after the race event with lucky draw prizes. Some cool retro photowalls were setup for photography. 

Official photographers and videographers were seen working in the area. Thank you to Rany Tan and other available photographers. No finisher photo this round though.

Revive Retro Run Malaysia 2015 was a good event for non-competetive runners. A unique finisher medal design. It could be bigger though. Love the running tee design too.

However, still a lot of space for improvement from race venue and event setup. Official photos shared thru the official Facebook page could be faster for participants photo-tags. But overall, participants had fun running in this race event.

Summary: A good thematic fun run event by Revive Malaysia, organisor, sponsors and partners.
