It's been a while since my last oversea running trip. So I decided to take up the inaugural 2XU Compression Run Indonesia held on 15 November 2015.
Registered myself for the Half-Marathon category at IDR 575000. Similar to its Singapore and Malaysia version, participant race entitlements were almost the same but with different colour and finisher medal design. The event tee was a running tee instead of a running vest.
Race Pack Collection
REPC was held at Kota Kasablanka Mall 2 - 3 days earlier prior to race day. Went for collection with MY365Runner partner, Shaz Nieza on the last day of REPC. Collection was fast as we were the last for collection due to traffic rush hour. Received a string bag consisted of race tee, BIB with timing chip, event guide booklet, Newton running socks and some discount vouchers.

Race Day
Had a basic carboloading with my Indonesian running friends, Yunita and Vivien the night before race day while on tour in Jakarta city.
The 2XU Compression Run Jakarta 2015 was held at AEON Mall, BSD City, Jakarta. This was my first time running within this district. Opted earlier to use the shuttle bus service from FX Senayan which departs at 4:30am. Regrouped with Shaz Nieza and RushRunner friends at the event area after a quick line-up for baggage drop.

The half marathon was flagged after the Indonesian national anthem sang at 5:30pm (6.30pm Malaysian time) followed by other categories 15 minutes later. I started my run with my good buddy Surya together with his Rushers friends till the first water station.
Race route and elevation was flat similar like running at Tangerang during Pocari Indonesia 2014. Weather was a little bit foggy at first but was really warm after sunrise. Glad that this race was just a half marathon, else I would most likely get sun burn due to the heat.

Water stations were available along the race route with mineral water and Pocari isotonic. There was a sponge station to cool participants off the heat after KM10. Had the opportunity to stop by one of the medics for muscle spray around KM16. It was somewhat weird to see that the usage of spray was manually recorded.

I successfully completed the half marathon with cheers and support by running friends. Thanks to RushRunner photographer for these nice finishing photos. Received my finisher medal, finisher tee, banana and mineral water at the finishing tent. It was a long queue but fast though.

I was really in luck to bumped onto one of my first few Indonesian running friends, Ichsan who is an ultra runner nowadays. Had post race meal with him and others at FX Senayan once back to the city by shuttle.

Review
Race kit was standard. The string bag given was OK. I think there was a defect with my red race tee shirt size. It printed the correct size (XS) but measurement was really like (S). I did compare the actual measurement with the finisher tee (XS) at the end of the race event. Finisher medal design and quality was good.
The marathon event was up to par with friendly and supporting volunteers. Love the auto-tagged official photos by Astralife via BIB number. Best feature ever in my running experience. Tons of photographers along the race route and at the event area.
Congratulations to Vivien for getting podium at the 5K category. It's unfortunate that the organisor decided to withdraw your prizes due to your "replacement BIB". Wish that the organisor could act more professionally in such situation as the winner did completed the run officially and fairly. Such a shame to look for the winner again just to take back the prize item, after the official presentation on stage.

Summary: A well managed race event by organisor, partners and sponsors. Looking forward for more improvement at your future race events.
