READ THIS IF YOU'RE HAVING A BAD DAY. #2

Hey Zengarmy,

Not too long ago (last October, to be exact) I published THIS post entitled
"If You're Having A Bad Day, Read This", where I basically roughly addressed
my depression story and how I'm recovering from it, which I thought would be
quite a good read for my readers if they are having a bad day or feeling down.
Little did I expect, it's gotten a considerably large amount of pageviews over
the past few months, which is one of the many reasons why I decided to make it
into a series on my blog (today's the second episode!). Not only do I want this blog
to be my online diary, I also want it to be a source of self-help tips for my readers!

So, if you're having a bad day, please please PLEASE watch this video now!

I'm not going to go into full details about my depression story,
but if you're curious about that, I wrote a blog post for that :

MY DEPRESSION STORY ∞ I DREAMED A DREAM

I attempted a suicide when I was 15, and I'm so glad that I didn't succeed
(obviously) or else I wouldn't be able to be sitting here writing this blog post.
And I am telling you right here, to those of you guys who think that things
aren't going to get any better, that THINGS ARE GOING TO GET BETTER.

I promise. This is no bullshitting. Things ARE going to get BETTER.
I've been through it. I thought I wasn't going to make it. But I did.

You are not a burden for having depression.
You are not a failure for having depression.
You are not a shame for having depression.

Don't feel alienated. Even the most joyful person could feel depressed.

Having a depression doesn't mean that you are a freak or you are abnormal,
it simply means that your brain is tired. We all have it at some point or another.
Some people laugh through it like a joke, while most of us wallow in the emotion.
Many people are suicidal, whether they're dealing with PTSD (post traumatic stress
disorder), depression, relationship troubles, school troubles, just feeling overwhelmed,
dealing with an illness or disability, or family that is hurtful / abusive in some way or just
doesn't love them ... depression sneaks up. Hopelessness sneaks up on your heart too.

Yes. Hopelessness. People don't just kill themselves. They're doing it because

they couldn't find any other way to end the sadness and pain in their hearts.
AND I AM TELLING YOU THERE IS. THERE IS ANOTHER WAY TO END THE PAIN.
Life is hard and can be depressing. You can feel hopeless, sad, heartbroken,
frustrated and maybe at times you've felt like you can't or don't want to go on,

But don't you dare kill yourself
before the best days of your life.

Take a shower, wash off the day. Drink a glass of water. Make the room dark.
Lie down and close your eyes. Notice the silence. Notice your heart. Listen.
Still beating. Still fighting. You made it, after all. You made it, another day.
And you can make it through one more day. You’re doing just fine. Hang on.

The pain, sadness, and hopelessness. They are not going to disappear in a day.
But they will disappear. I promise. Surround yourself with positivity. Hang out
with positive people who will only notice the goodness in you. Believe there is
goodness in you. There is a reason why you're born into this world. Make it your
purpose in life to search for that reason. Whether it's drawing, writing poems, or
even making YouTube videos. Surround yourself with positivity and ONLY positivity.

For me, personally, creating this blog helps a lot in my recovery process.
The moment you recognize the fact that you HAVE the ability to create something,
life is suddenly not so sad anymore. Life is suddenly full of opened doors and lights.
The only way to fight with depression is to face it. Tell your depression it's NOT going
to ruin your life. Tell your depression that you have something more important in life
to accomplish. Go create something. It doesn't matter at all whether you're good at it.
What matters the most is that you're stepping forward. And that's the whole fucking point
of life : trying something new, failing at it, trying it again until you succeed, & moving on.

[ LIFE RULES ]

You are never as awkward as you think you are.
You are never as annoying as you think you are.
You are never as boring as you think you are.
Your compliments are never as creepy as you think they are.
You are way more wanted than you give yourself credit for.

[ TO THOSE OF US STRUGGLING ]

• We will make it.
• We made it through another day.
• We are strong.
• We will keep moving forward.
• We will cry, and that’s OK.
• We are beautiful.
• We have been through so much but we are still standing.
• We've faced many obstacles, we've conquered them, & we'll conquer more.
• We are valid.
• We will be successful.
• We deserve happiness.

If you noticed someone being unusually quiet lately, share this with them.
And talk to them even if they refuse to. It's important to let them know that
there's always somebody beside them. Be gentle and kind to them. Thank you.
