In conjunction with Malaysia Day holiday on 16 September 2013, which falls on Monday, I decided to take part in an outstation 10K run at Singapore.

My Experience
Managed to collect my race pack at Big Splash Running Club store in Singapore the day before the event after driving from Kuala Lumpur into Singapore in the evening.

Running Day
Drove to Big Splash from the hotel at 5.30am the next day. Ample parking spaces at the venue. Just make sure you have sufficient credit on your AutoPass card if you are driving your foreign vehicles. Cost me SGD8 for 5 hours when exit.
Some booths are ready for runners service at that time. Pre-Run water station, medical and baggage deposit counter.
Runners were flagged off exactly at 7am. Able to run with a steady pace. Running traffic was good due to no slow runners in this run. Running venue was fantastic due to location along East Coast, next to the sea. It was breezy as if it is going to rain.
Distance markers were available along the running route. Water station available at every 2.5KM. Medical officers were strolling within the area on their bikes. Spotted some pacers with balloons tied on their vest. Pacers had 1:00 hr and 1:15 hr timing (if not mistaken) for runners who wants to achieve their timing goals.

Collected my finisher tee at the finishing line. Finished the 10KM run at 1 hour 12 minutes. Not my best time for 10KM distance. Feel I could do better next round.

Spent some time at the carnival area with some new found Singapore friends. Runners were waiting for the lucky draw session at 9.30am. There were 10 lucky draw prizes such as discount vouchers and an ipad as grand prize. Pop-corn and cotton candy also available at the snack booth.

Wish there was a finisher medal for runner's collection. Finisher tee design was nice, but could add more value if date or year printed on it. The energy bar at the finishing line could be more useful if given during the run too.
Summary: Excellent job to Big Splash Running Club and partners! I had fun running in this event.
