27 days after moving back to Kota Kinabalu, I am back in Kuala Lumpur city for another race event at my least favourite training ground, Padang Merbok held on the 9 August 2015.
The ASEAN Unity Run 2015 had open its registration last 2 months during Ramadhan month. Registered myself for the 10K category at RM53 (Early Bird) with running vest, bib and lucky draw entitlements. My race pack collection was helped by my running partner a week prior to race day. Running vest and finisher medal had been shared thru its Facebook page few weeks earlier.
Race Day
Decided to drive to Padang Merbok as early at 5.00 am. Parking was at first come first serve basis. A short walk from Lake Garden to the race venue. Regroup with my running partner, Shaz Niza as we bumped onto celebrity runner, Omar Shuib at the baggage deposit tent.

The start area for 21K and 10K for ASEAN Unity Run 2015 was 50 metres away from the 5K category along the hilly road. Started my 10K race together with my lady pacer on our basic 6" pace. Bumped onto MY365Runner friends, Murni and Botak at KM2.5. Nice to see turtlena in the same race too.
Felt that the first water station was a bit far from the usual or maybe because I was too thirsty. Water stations had mineral water and 100Plus. Good job to volunteers for the smooth and fast work. The route selection was great, slightly different from the usual 10K route from previous race events there.
Successfully crossed the finishing line at 1:07 hours (Nett Time). Not my personal best but standard timing for my 10K distance. Collected my finisher medal at the finishing line with a bottle of water and a bananna. No finisher photos this round due to no photographer at the finishing line. Hang around the finishing line area while meeting running friends from MY365Runners Tinie, Khairul, Zhaff and many others.

Event Area
Stroll along the event area held on Padang Merbok itself during the lucky draw session. There were partners and sponsors booths with product sales and freebies. Spent sometime at the decent photowall for pictures with friends.

Comments
Running vest and tee design by Brooks was fine for me. Just a minor issue with its size cutting as it was smaller and shorter than the usual. The finisher medal design and quality could be much better. Finisher medal was only 1 step above the school sport medals.
No finisher tee entitlement for the 21K category. No mention of this entitlement during registration. No goodie bag after the race other than a bottle of water and banana.

Race route was well selected and managed. No issue with traffic.
Tons of official photographers during flag off but no photographers at the finishing line. Saw Sleeping Chow (from LYN Runners) at the last KM turn. Thank you to all photographers on duty at the event.
Excellent lucky draw prizes. One of my runner friends got the 10K prize. Congratulations!

Summary: A somewhat good race event by organisor and partners. But race event could be way more better especially on runners welfare and entitlement.
Event Recommendation: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5)
