Opted for Nike We Run Jakarta or locally known as Bajak JKT during its registration period on October 2014 as my previous wonderful experience at Bajak JKT last year. Read my BAJAKJKT2013 post for more info.
Furthermore, missed to sign up for the "returned" of Nike We Run KL 2014 which had opened during SCKLM 2014 race day event.
Signed up for Bajak JKT 2014 together with my local Indonesian friends whom I have met throughout my running days in Jakarta especially from Indo Runners.
Race Day
Flew in to Jakarta city early in the morning same day as race day, 13 December 2014. Regrouped with my running buddy, Surya few hours earlier for a quick story catch-up and carbo-load.

Changed into my running attire there then straight to the race venue at 2.30pm (local time). The race venue for Bajak JKT this year was held at Lapangan Benteng, few KM away from iconic Monas Monument.

Fast and organised baggage deposit service by friendly volunteers. I was given a baggage wrist tag for collection afterwards.
Nice Nike deco and brand positioning made by the organisor at the race area. Spotted tons of photowalls to take photograph at later after the race. Mobile toilets were available and sufficient inside the race village. Met a few Indo Runners like Yomi (met during SCMS 2014) and Ichsan Hanip (met during Pocari Sweat Run ID 2014) while I was strolling around the area.

I was introduced by my buddy Surya to Rush Runners Crew and his running buddies. They are one of the Nike running crew that actively conducts running training sessions in Jakarta. It was really nice to be part of a family-oriented running crew. There are also other Nike running crew there such as EJR, Galaxy Running Club and Running Rage.

The 10K race was flagged at 4pm with a few waves to separate the elite runners and avoid traffic congestions. Weather was cloudy and warm.
I was a surprised that the race environment was really different from the previous year. This was the real "Bajak Jakarta" concept, as referred by local runners. At some race distance, participants had to run through bad traffic with tons of cars and motorbikes. Don't think it was safe but participants were looking after each others safety throughout the entire race. Didn't see any medic in the area though. I noticed that the local police was having a tough time handling the traffic for participants safety. Tons of complaints from motorist caught in the traffic.

Water stations along the race route with Pocari Sweat supplies were excellent. Distance and direction signages placed along the race route were clear.

I successfully completed Bajak JKT 2014 10K race at 1:11 hours (Nett Time). A basic 10K finishing time for me since I have yet to recover from my previous SCMS 2014 race. This year, a unique finisher medal was given instead of a finisher tee. I still prefer a finisher tee though, but I guess the finisher tee was replaced with the official Nike Training tee. Collected a banana, a bottle of Pocari Sweat and some fruit bar at the finishing line.

Had the chance to meet Timmy with the other Kyserun Krew from Kuala Lumpur, a running crew with similar identity (Nike) with the Indonesia Nike running crews. RUN89 Crew (KL) was there too. Looking forward to run with these crews back in KL.
Left the race area at 7.30pm for a post-race dinner with running friends.

A good race by Nike Indonesia, organisor, sponsors and partners. Love the volt color running tee and medal design. The printed BIB number still sticks even after the race.
A very beautiful Nike brand placement by organisor at the race area. Wish the race village was lit-up properly after dark though. It was quite difficult to take nice photos with my smartphone in low light conditions.

Very poor traffic management. I am sure there was a reason the organisor choosed to have an evening race instead of morning, but runners safety is very critical in an running event.
A big thanks to Rush Runner Crew and host for the post-race dinner at home. I had so much fun running and meeting with you guys.
Summary: A good race by Nike Indonesia, organisor, sponsors and partners & excellent Nike running clubs.
However, race day management could be improved especially on runners safety. Looking forward to Bajak Jakarta again!
