Running Day
It was a rainy morning. Hence I decided to take the Putra LRT from home to Masjid Jamek. The 8KM category was flagged at 7am. Reached Padang Merbok 7 minutes later after a fast jog from the LRT station. Left my baggage at the baggage counter and head towards the starting line. Think I was the last person to cross the starting line.
Since I was at the last position in my category, I had to fast run to catch the other runners. Managed to be in the running group at KM1+ just before the U-turn area. Bumped with Yen Yen at KM4. Farrah was way far ahead.
Distance markers were seen at every KM. Water station provides normal water. Not sure if there was any isotonic drinks though. Was re-filling my water bottle with plain water. Medical team was seen at every water station.
The running route was challenging. Padang Merbok consist of 3 major hills. So running uphill was already expected. Elevation up to 93m. Check out the route elevation graph at the bottom.
Ended the last KM downhill with my home flag. I completed the 8KM run at 58 minutes. Think I could do better. Collected the finisher medal, a banana and a can of 100 Plus at the finishing line. Was a bit weird that the volunteers didn't mark my bib number upon collection.

The finisher medal was fantastic! Glad that the medal design was different from the Singapore version.

Comment
Wish there was an official event backdrop for photography. Winning photography had to be done on stage, with prizes on it.
The MC of the day was very friendly. However, there was no reason for participants to stay long since there was nothing else to do. The MC was trying the best to keep runners to stay until the end of the event.
There were no drinking stations like MILO, 100 Plus at the event. Hope to see improvements at the same event next year. You may want to add lucky draws sessions next year too.
Summary: Good event by 2XU, Pink Apple Events and partners! Keep up the good work.
Event Recommendation: ★★★☆☆ (3/5)
